Our Servolutions have been amazing since the beginning of the year. In January we did our first serve by paying for people’s laundry services at the Laundromat and in February we did the same. In March we gave away free water and ice cream in the parks. And in April we gave away just water in the parks. May was very busy and we missed that month but June’s Servolution was amazing.
Crawfordville, FL is full of people who need genuine relationships with people – people who have no intentions of getting something, but of giving something ; intentions of just being their friend. There is a deep desire, even though it may not be said, for real people from Church to reach out to those who need reaching. We have had the privilege of making many friends over the past few months. Our goal is not to grow our church number but to fulfill the needs of our community. The Bible says that some water, some sow but God brings the increase. It isn’t our job to grow our church attendance, but it is our job to allow God to use us to touch lives - whether they know Christ already or know of Him or have no idea who He is. Simply put, be available; be ready; be willing. Desire to do good in other people’s lives. The strongest thing we can do is touch the lives of people. Our most successful Servolutions have been at the Laundromat. What do I mean by successful? Being in the right place at the right time. We have paid for laundry for folk’s who needed the change they would have spent on laundry to be able to buy food and necessities. We have had the opportunity to go and actually buy a dryer for a family that needed one so they didn’t have to come to the Laundromat anymore. We have had the chance to pray for people with long term injuries and pain and to encourage people to keep going and move ahead. The journey thus far has been amazing. Looking back, I’m reminded of one situation where there was a family whose home caught fire and smoked a lot of clothes. We were able to help by paying for the washing and drying, as well as physically helping with the washing, drying and folding of the clothes. On another occasion, I was heading home from a Servolution and pulled over and handed out about 20 waters to a group of adults, teens and children that had just done an event at the park. On that same day I pulled over to give some cold water to someone who was selling crawfish. There are many things that the Church body can do that are simple. Being a benefit to someone else is not difficult. It can be an inconvenience for you, but being a source for someone else has a price. Jesus gave his life for us! We should be willing to give our time, money, a hand, and friendship to those who need it. It doesn’t take a lot of planning to do; but it does take some forethought so that when the time comes, and you have an opportunity to serve, you have PLANNED on doing it - and not giving yourself a way out but rather a way in! Keep serving keep reaching and watch the Kingdom of God unfold before your eyes in other people’s lives. Watch His kingdom grow in you! Blessings to you and your family. Last Saturday, Summit Life Church, conducted its 2nd Servolution of the year at
the Crawfordville Laundromat and Crawfordville Ice Machine - paying for every patrons clothes to be washed and dried and for everyone's ice. With a desire to continue and grow what was started from the 1st Servolution, in January, the team was rearing to go! We had the honor of serving a lot of people and encouraging and praying for many, too. We even had a dear lady who had been having hip and leg pain for years, come to us after praying for her, letting us know that she was experiencing a relief from the pain! It was amazing to see how God brought the right people, at the right time and how He provided exactly what they needed! There is a passion that has been birthed at Summit Life Church, to serve our great community and to be the expression of Gods love to the people here in Wakulla county. We know this county belongs to God, even before they believe it. And we have determined to be used by God, to make a difference! Our next Servolution is coming up in March and I encourage everyone to come out and allow God to use you. You will never be the same when you're done!
When we arrived there was only one person there. But no big deal. As we pulled into the parking lot we noticed a self-serve ice machine. So as a part of the servolution that day we decided to pay for bag & bulk ice. Lots of people got ice early in the day. So we served people with the chill of ice :) The laundromat began to pick up. The most remarkable thing occurred while we were there; the previous day there was a fire at a town home in Crawfordville, FL and the family was busy trying to salvage what was left of their things so they loaded their friend's car full of smokey clothes that needed to be washed, dried and folded. The friends of the family whose home burned brought the clothes to the laundromat. They had no idea that Summit Life Church had been directed by God to start a servolution at the Laundromat that very day! We, the body of Christ, were able to pay for most of the washing and drying. We helped them unload the car, separate the clothes, put them in the washing machines, transfer them to the dryers and fold them. Then we helped them load it all back up into their car. While all this was going on we were also helping other families as they came into the laundromat. We were sharing the love of God with people through a simple act of kindness.
It was an extraordinary day. When you pay for people's laundry and see the expression on their face, its awesome! Many people were touched by the kindness of God, shown through us. We are bringing a Revolution to Wakulla County through a Servolution. We are embarking on a journey that will touch the four corners of the earth. This servolution has already reached as far away as Tampa with a testimony shared by one of the families who we served. God is ultimately in control. All we need to do is listen and follow where He is leading. Our next servolution will be February 23, 2013. Join us! Don't let anything hold you back!
